Since 1973 as a beach surveillance and rescue mission, the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service has developed into the largest non-profit aviation search and rescue service in Australia. Aircraft and rescue crews respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies threatening the life, health and safety of people affected by medical emergency, illness, natural disaster, accidents or mishap.
Westpac has been a proud supporter of the Service since its inception, the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service has completed more than 80,000 missions nationally. No one has ever had to pay to be rescued. The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service is there for Australians when they need help most, operating 17 aircraft from 13 bases across the country and 2 rescue boats
